To Our Valued Concorde Flooded Battery Customers,
We recognize and appreciate the loyalty you have shown to Concorde Battery and to our CB Series batteries over the years. We realize you have an option when it comes to aircraft batteries and the fact that you have chosen a Concorde for your aircraft is something we take very seriously. We feel your confidence in Concorde is in part due to the quality, safety, reliability, performance and customer satisfaction, distinctions we work diligently to maintain.
In 2012 Concorde's Recombinant Gas (RG®) Sealed Lead Acid Batteries were chosen by The Aviation Consumer for the "一定牛彩票网Gear of the Year" award for Best Aircraft Battery. This endorsement is largely due to the winning results found by The Aviation Consumer when they compared Concorde's sealed technology batteries to the competition. These comparisons are well documented in, "Aircraft Batteries: Concorde Still Excels" published in September 2011. The Aviation Consumer's results are an indication of Concorde's diligence in perfecting the RG® Series Sealed Lead Acid battery product line and recognizing the importance of providing top rate customer service. More general aviation pilots are now flying with Concorde batteries than any other aircraft battery.
Concorde's high standards have resulted in sealed battery technology that provides more efficiency, more power and more convenience than traditional flooded battery technology. This has led to a steady decline in flooded battery demand over the past ten years. This decreasing market for flooded batteries has dramatically increased manufacturing costs of producing the CB product line. For years we have continued to manufacture CB batteries despite the decreasing demand and increased costs out of respect to loyal flooded battery consumers. After serious consideration, Concorde Battery Corporation has decided it is in our customer's best interest to discontinue the CB flooded battery line in 2013. This will allow us to focus efforts on advancements in the RG® Series product line of Sealed Lead Acid Batteries which will further benefit our customers. As our valued customer and as part of our responsibility to maintain the highest quality of products, we would like to inform you that we will be discontinuing our line of CB Series products effective July 1st, 2013.
Concorde understands there are many lead acid battery options for aircraft owners and many factors contribute to battery preference. Important factors for all consumers making any purchase are cost and value. The CB Series has long been perceived as less expensive when in fact this is not the case. As the demand for flooded batteries has decreased, many CB products are actually more expensive than the more efficient RG® battery counterpart. Concorde is not comfortable providing an older technology product to customers at an increased price. In addition to The Aviation Consumer's 2011 article comparing Concorde batteries to the competition, please review our brochure, RG-Superior Technology, Superior Performance that explains differences between sealed and flooded lead acid technologies and dispels some common misunderstandings. We hope this is helpful in allowing you to make an informed choice.
The discontinuation of the CB line will be effective July 1, 2013. Concorde's CB Batteries are not activated until the date of installation and therefore have no mandated shelf life. Concorde's standard warranty will apply to all discontinued flooded CB Batteries. If you are interested in placing a final CB Battery order please contact your preferred Concorde Battery Distributor today so they can adequately prepare final orders.
As we continue to maintain and expand our full range of RG® Sealed Lead Acid Batteries, Concorde Battery Corporation is committed to offering its customers high-quality products at affordable prices backed by excellent customer service and support.
